At The Grange Primary School, we understand how important the transition into a new school can be whether your child is joining us in our two-year-old provision, starting Reception, or joining us from another setting. That’s why we put a great deal of care and attention into making this move as smooth and reassuring as possible for both children and their families.
Throughout the year, we run a thorough transition programme which includes stay-and-play sessions, taster mornings, and opportunities to meet the staff and explore the school environment. These experiences help children to settle in, become familiar with their surroundings, make new friends, and build confidence before their first day.
The more familiar a child is with their new setting, the more relaxed and ready they will feel. That’s why we work closely with parents and carers to provide helpful information and personalised support, ensuring every child’s transition is positive, enjoyable, and tailored to their individual needs.
